Seasonal Flu 2016-17 Resource

Dear Parents,

We are in the peak of seasonal influenza for 2016-17, and many adults and children have been experiencing symptoms of the flu. Please follow the link below for important information and guidance that may be helpful in keeping your family healthy during this time. If you have concerns regarding symptoms your child may be experiencing, please be sure to contact your family physician.

The CDC recommends that, in order to prevent the spread of the flu or any illness, you keep your child home from school, day care or camp for at least 24 hours after his/her fever is gone. (The fever should be gone without the use of a fever-reducing medicine.) A fever is defined as 100°F (37.8°C) or higher. Please also remind your child of the importance of frequent hand washing and “cough etiquette” during flu season and throughout the year.

Your assistance in helping to prevent the spread of the flu, and other illnesses, is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Patricia Callander
