In Howell Township, students are immersed in a technologically rich environment, receiving education in both technology and computers. While Technology Education and Computer classes are distinct, they complement each other to provide a comprehensive understanding of modern technologies and their applications.

Understanding Technology Education

Technology Education goes beyond computer skills, focusing on the study of technology and its impact on individuals, society, and civilization. Students engage in hands-on, problem-solving activities that foster critical thinking and creativity. They explore the relationship between technology and society, learning to design, create, and construct solutions to real-world problems.

Comprehensive Curriculum Across Grades

Our Technology Education curriculum provides a progressive learning experience that builds upon students' knowledge and skills year after year. Students engage in hands-on, problem-solving activities that foster critical thinking and creativity. Through research, design, and practical application, students develop a deep understanding of how technology impacts society and learn to create innovative solutions to real-world problems. This comprehensive approach prepares students for advanced studies in technology and helps them make informed choices about their educational and career paths.

Enhancing Learning Through Technology Student Association (TSA)

Our Technology Education Program includes active participation in the Technology Student Association (TSA), where students expand their decision-making and leadership skills. TSA members compete in State and National competitions such as Cyberspace Pursuit, Digital Photography Challenge, Medical Technology Challenge, and Structural Challenge, providing real-world applications for their classroom learning.

Early Exposure Through Media and Science Curriculum

At the elementary level, students are introduced to various facets of Technology Education through our Media curriculum and their weekly visits to the Media Center, in addition to our Science curriculum, laying the groundwork for their future studies in technology.
