Citizens Needed for Technology Task Force
12/15/2011
Dear Community Members,
The Howell Township School District is once again forming a Technology Task Force to assist in defining the district’s technology plan for the future. We currently are in need of refurbishing our existing equipment and upgrading our infrastructure to accommodate the needs of our students. Prior to continuing to support our existing technology program, we believe that we must investigate alternate technologies that might better serve our students in a 21st century environment.

Message from the Superintendent
11/14/2011
The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) requires all states to create their own high academic standards for what a child should know and be able to do in language arts literacy and mathematics. The New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards at the Elementary and Middle School Level are assessed through the New Jersey Assessment of Skills and Knowledge (NJASK). The NJASK measures performance in language arts literacy and mathematics, across Grades 3-8. Student performance on the NJASK is measured against annual targets to determine Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). The goal is that 100% of students achieve proficiency in language arts literacy and mathematics on the NJASK by the year 2014.
